It's one of those '80s' hits that we hear on the radio often. We never really spend a lot of time thinking about them because we've come to accept them as some sort of a fact of life, something that has always been around, especially on public transportation. They're too familiar, too cheesy, too old, too pop. Until one day, its singer, who only happens to be the King of Pop, dies, and his songs become popular again, including this one. Local singers do a cover of the song on TV, they do it so badly, and I come to the realization that there is a reason why he's the King: No one -- and I repeat no one else -- can and will ever do the song better than him. Ever. But I still go on watching the TV because I want to be reminded of the original -- and how he sang it so beautifully. |

The new breed of text scam I suppose I could tell you the reason for my hiatus, like I'm some celebrity whose life you're just dying to know about, by saying I've been busy with so many activities like staying up all week to finish a writing assignment, going to Laiya for a third time, trashing a room at some resort, traveling to Hong Kong (which was so last year, actually), planning to invade another country, wondering where to get the funds, changing my hairstyle, figuring out the easiest way to commute from San Mateo to Makati (there is none, so far), loving Commonwealth more than Marikina, realizing my phone alarm Stereophonics' Have a Nice Day sounds better on my iPod, cursing the heat like a motherf*cker, getting sick, spending a ridiculous amount of time on the Internet doing nothing but lurk, ogle, comment, twitter, plurk and facebook, trying not to let disappointments get the best of me, asking what I really want in life and knowing where the bodies are, but the truth is I'm just too g*dd*mned lazy. That's all.
*old entry reposted from WordPress blog. Yes I am THAT lazy. Hello LiveJournal!
